How we work
Soundhouse Build is led by Nick, who started the company in 2002 with a simple aim — to do building work properly, without the usual faff. Today we’re a small, experienced team of builders working across Brighton & Hove, known for quality craftsmanship, clear communication and a sensible approach to even the trickiest projects.
We don’t have an office. We don’t run ads. Most of our work comes through word of mouth, from clients and architects who know us, trust us, and come back again. You’ll usually spot Nick by his green VW truck — a well-known fixture on local jobs and currently in the middle of a slow, careful restoration.
We’ve worked on everything from bespoke lofts to whole-house refurbishments and complex extensions. Whatever the scale, our focus is always the same: make it solid, make it smart, and make sure the client feels looked after. We do things thoroughly, not rushed — and we don’t claim to be the quickest. We also work closely with local building control. Every job is properly inspected, so standards stay high and no corners get cut.
